Information on data transfers to third countries that are not secure under data protection law and on transfers to US companies that are not DPF-certified
Among other things, we use tools from companies based in third countries that are not secure under data protection law, as well as US tools whose providers are not certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). If these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to these countries and processed there. Please note that a level of data protection comparable to that in the EU cannot be guaranteed in third countries that are not secure under data protection law.
Please note that the USA, as a secure third country, generally has a level of data protection comparable to that of the EU. Accordingly, a transfer of data to the USA is permissible if the recipient holds a certification under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF) or has appropriate additional safeguards. Information on transfers to third countries, including the data recipients, can be found in this privacy policy.
Recipients of personal data
In the course of our business activities, we work with various external parties. In some cases, this also requires the transfer of personal data to these external parties. We only pass on personal data to external parties if this is necessary for the performance of a contract, if we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. disclosure of data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in the disclosure or if another legal basis permits the disclosure of data. When using processors, we only pass on our customers’ personal data on the basis of a valid data processing agreement. In the case of joint processing, a joint processing agreement is concluded.
Withdrawal of your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
IF THE DATA PROCESSING IS BASED ON ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA CONCERNED UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(1) GDPR).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING INSOFAR AS IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
In the event of infringements of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint exists without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.
Information, rectification and erasure
Within the scope of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, where applicable, a right to rectification or erasure of this data. You can contact us at any time regarding this and any other questions on the subject of personal data.
Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us about this at any time. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
- If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of erasure.
- If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it for the exercise, defence or establishment of legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of erasure.
- If you have lodged an objection under Art. 21(1) GDPR, a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data may, apart from its storage, only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or of a Member State.
SSL or TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in your browser line.
When SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
4. Data collection on this website
Cookies
Our websites use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your terminal device. They are stored on your terminal device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your terminal device until you delete them yourself or they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
Cookies can originate from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services of third-party companies within websites (e.g. cookies for handling payment services).
Cookies have various functions. Numerous cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping basket function or the display of videos). Other cookies may be used to evaluate user behaviour or for advertising purposes.
Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions requested by you (e.g. for the shopping basket function) or to optimise the website (e.g. cookies for measuring the web audience) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, unless another legal basis is stated. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Where consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act)); consent can be withdrawn at any time.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.
You can find out which cookies and services are used on this website in this privacy policy.
Consent with Complianz
Our website uses the consent technology of Complianz to obtain your consent to the storage of certain cookies on your terminal device or to the use of certain technologies and to document this consent in compliance with data protection law. The provider of this technology is Complianz B.V., Kalmarweg 14-5, 9723 JG Groningen, Netherlands (hereinafter “Complianz”).
Complianz is hosted on our servers, so no connection is established to the servers of the provider of Complianz. Complianz stores a cookie in your browser in order to be able to attribute the consents given or their withdrawal to you. The data collected in this way is stored until you ask us to delete it, you delete the Complianz cookie yourself or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Mandatory statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
Complianz is used to obtain the legally required consent for the use of cookies. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Host name of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP address
This data is not combined with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website. For this purpose, the server log files must be collected.
Contact form
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact details you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of the enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if this has been requested; consent can be withdrawn at any time.
The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular retention periods, remain unaffected.
Repair request
With the repair request form, you register a device for repair. In doing so, we process your contact details (name, company, address, email address, telephone number), the details of the device (manufacturer, model, serial number, accessories sent with it, description of the fault, order or invoice number) and, if you attach it, your proof of purchase. We use this data to review the request, prepare a cost estimate, carry out the repair and return the device to you.
The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, as it is necessary for carrying out the repair request and the pre-contractual measures. The data remains with us until the request has been completed and no statutory retention periods, in particular under commercial and tax law, apply any longer.
Enquiries by email, telephone or fax
If you contact us by email, telephone or fax, your enquiry, including all resulting personal data (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request.
The data you send us via contact requests will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to its storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been fully processed). Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular statutory retention periods, remain unaffected.
Communication via WhatsApp
For communication with our customers and other third parties, we use, among other services, the instant messaging service WhatsApp. The provider is WhatsApp Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland.
Communication is end-to-end encrypted (peer-to-peer), which prevents WhatsApp or other third parties from gaining access to the content of communications. However, WhatsApp does gain access to metadata generated in the course of the communication process (e.g. sender, recipient and time). We further point out that, according to its own statement, WhatsApp shares the personal data of its users with its US-based parent company Meta. Further details on data processing can be found in WhatsApp's privacy policy at: https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/#privacy-policy.
WhatsApp is used on the basis of our legitimate interest in communicating as quickly and effectively as possible with customers, prospective customers and other business and contractual partners (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If corresponding consent has been requested, the data processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of that consent; consent may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
The communication content exchanged between you and us on WhatsApp will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to its storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been fully processed). Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular retention periods, remain unaffected.
The company is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the US intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the US. Every company certified under the DPF undertakes to comply with these data protection standards. Further information on this can be obtained from the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/7735.
We use WhatsApp in the “WhatsApp Business” version.
Data transfer to the US is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/business-data-transfer-addendum.
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with the above-mentioned provider.
5. Analytics tools and advertising
Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyse the behaviour of website visitors. In doing so, the website operator receives various usage data, such as page views, length of visit, operating systems used and the user's origin. This data is assigned to the user's respective end device. It is not assigned to a user ID.
Furthermore, Google Analytics allows us, among other things, to record your mouse and scroll movements and clicks. Google Analytics also uses various modelling approaches to supplement the collected data sets and employs machine learning technologies in data analysis.
Google Analytics uses technologies that make it possible to recognise the user for the purpose of analysing user behaviour (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google about the use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the US and stored there.
This service is used on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). Consent may be withdrawn at any time. Google Analytics is only loaded once you have given your consent in the cookie settings.
Data transfer to the US is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://business.safety.google/adscontrollerterms/sccs/.
The company is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the US intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the US. Every company certified under the DPF undertakes to comply with these data protection standards. Further information on this can be obtained from the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/5780.
IP anonymisation
Google Analytics IP anonymisation is activated. As a result, your IP address is truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the US. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the US and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with further services related to website use and internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.
Browser plugin
You can prevent Google from collecting and processing your data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
Further information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google's privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
Processing on our behalf
We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
Google Ads
The website operator uses Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising programme of Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Ads enables us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters certain search terms on Google (keyword targeting). Furthermore, targeted advertisements can be displayed on the basis of user data available to Google (e.g. location data and interests) (target group targeting). As the website operator, we can evaluate this data quantitatively, for example by analysing which search terms led to our advertisements being displayed and how many advertisements led to corresponding clicks.
This service is used on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
Data transfer to the US is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks and https://business.safety.google/controllerterms/.
6. Newsletter
Newsletter data
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected, or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.
The data entered in the newsletter registration form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw the consent you have given to the storage of the data and the email address and to their use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter. The lawfulness of data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
The data you have provided to us for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us or by the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe from the newsletter or once the purpose no longer applies. We reserve the right to delete or block email addresses from our newsletter distribution list at our own discretion within the scope of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Data that we have stored for other purposes remains unaffected by this.
After you have been removed from the newsletter distribution list, your email address may be stored by us or by the newsletter service provider in a blacklist if this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist is used only for this purpose and is not merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with the statutory requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You may object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
Brevo
We use Brevo for newsletters and marketing automation. The provider is Brevo GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin.
With your consent, Brevo sets a cookie (sib_cuid) that recognises your visit to our website. The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act), which you can withdraw at any time in the cookie settings. According to its own information, Brevo processes the data in data centres in the EU.
7. Plugins and tools
YouTube with enhanced data protection
This website embeds videos from the YouTube website. The operator of the website is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
When you visit one of the pages of this website on which YouTube is embedded, a connection to YouTube's servers is established. In the process, the YouTube server is informed which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your browsing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
We use YouTube in enhanced data protection mode. According to YouTube, videos played in enhanced data protection mode are not used to personalise browsing on YouTube. Advertisements shown in enhanced data protection mode are likewise not personalised. No cookies are set in enhanced data protection mode. Instead, however, so-called local storage elements are stored in the user's browser, which, like cookies, contain personal data and can be used for recognition. Details on enhanced data protection mode can be found here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780.
Activating a YouTube video may trigger further data processing operations over which we have no control.
YouTube is used in the interest of presenting our online offerings in an appealing manner. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. If corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act), insofar as the consent covers the storage of cookies or access to information in the user's end device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
Further information on data protection at YouTube can be found in its privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

We use Cloudflare Turnstile (hereinafter “Turnstile”) on this website. The provider is Cloudflare Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (hereinafter “Cloudflare”).
Turnstile is intended to check whether data entered on this website (e.g. in a contact form) is entered by a human or by an automated program. To this end, Turnstile analyses the behaviour of the website visitor on the basis of various characteristics.
This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters a website with Turnstile activated. For the analysis, Turnstile evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, time the website visitor spends on the website or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Cloudflare.
The data is stored and analysed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings from abusive automated spying and from SPAM.
Data processing is based on standard contractual clauses, which can be found here: https://www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-scc/.

The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
The customer data collected will be deleted after the order has been completed or the business relationship has ended and any applicable statutory retention periods have expired. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
9. Audio and video conferences
Data processing
For communication with our customers, we use, among other things, online conferencing tools. The specific tools we use are listed below. When you communicate with us by video or audio conference via the internet, your personal data is collected and processed by us and by the provider of the respective conferencing tool.
The conferencing tools collect all data that you provide/use in order to use the tools (email address and/or your telephone number). The conferencing tools also process the duration of the conference, the start and end (time) of participation in the conference, the number of participants and other “context information” related to the communication process (metadata).
Furthermore, the provider of the tool processes all technical data required to handle the online communication. This includes, in particular, IP addresses, MAC addresses, device IDs, device type, operating system type and version, client version, camera type, microphone or loudspeaker and the type of connection.
If content is exchanged, uploaded or otherwise made available within the tool, it is also stored on the servers of the tool providers. Such content includes, in particular, cloud recordings, chat/instant messages, voicemails, uploaded photos and videos, files, whiteboards and other information shared while using the service.
Please note that we do not have complete influence over the data processing operations of the tools used. Our options are largely determined by the corporate policy of the respective provider. Further information on data processing by the conferencing tools can be found in the privacy policies of the respective tools used, which we have listed below this text.
Purpose and legal bases
The conferencing tools are used to communicate with prospective or existing contractual partners or to offer certain services to our customers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Furthermore, the use of the tools serves the general simplification and acceleration of communication with us or our company (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Insofar as consent has been requested, the tools in question are used on the basis of that consent; consent may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
Storage period
The data collected directly by us via the video and conferencing tools will be deleted from our systems as soon as you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to its storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your end device until you delete them. Mandatory statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
We have no influence over the storage period of your data that is stored by the operators of the conferencing tools for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the conferencing tools directly.

Handling of applicant data
We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g. by email, by post or via an online application form). Below, we inform you about the scope, purpose and use of your personal data collected as part of the application process. We assure you that your data will be collected, processed and used in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other statutory provisions and that your data will be treated in strict confidence.
Scope and purpose of data collection
If you send us an application, we process the associated personal data (e.g. contact and communication data, application documents, notes taken during job interviews, etc.) to the extent necessary to decide on establishing an employment relationship. The legal basis for this is Section 26 BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act) under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (general initiation of a contract) and, if you have given consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent may be withdrawn at any time. Within our company, your personal data will only be passed on to persons involved in processing your application.
If the application is successful, the data you have submitted will be stored in our data processing systems on the basis of Section 26 BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for the purpose of implementing the employment relationship.
Data retention period
If we are unable to offer you a position, you decline a job offer or you withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you have submitted on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for up to 6 months from the end of the application procedure (rejection or withdrawal of the application). The data will then be deleted and the physical application documents destroyed. The retention serves in particular as evidence in the event of a legal dispute. If it is evident that the data will be required after the 6-month period has expired (e.g. due to an impending or pending legal dispute), deletion will only take place when the purpose for further retention no longer applies.
A longer retention period may also apply if you have given your corresponding consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or if statutory retention obligations preclude deletion.
Inclusion in the applicant pool
If we do not make you a job offer, it may be possible to include you in our applicant pool. In the event of inclusion, all documents and information from the application will be transferred to the applicant pool so that we can contact you if suitable vacancies arise.
Inclusion in the applicant pool takes place exclusively on the basis of your express consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Giving consent is voluntary and has no connection with the ongoing application procedure. The data subject can withdraw their consent at any time. In this case, the data in the applicant pool will be irrevocably deleted, provided there are no statutory reasons for retention.
The data in the applicant pool will be irrevocably deleted no later than two years after consent has been given.
