DJI has only saved on the size of its brand new action camera DJI Action 2. The super-compact cubist (39 x 39 x 22.3 mm) housing made of an extremely robust aluminum alloy contains concentrated video and photo power to ensure that not a single second of the most spectacular action moments is missed. Now behind the scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass lens is a 1/1.7-inch CMOS sensor that offers an ultra-wide 155° field of view for both improved perspective and depth of field. The Action 2’s special aspherical lens provides more sharpness in the peripheral areas and reduces image distortion. During shooting, the perspective can be seamlessly changed from near to far using the digital zoom to add depth to footage.
The virtually bezel-less OLED display made of Gorilla Glass impresses with its high-contrast resolution under all lighting conditions and responsiveness. Combined with the efficient and easy-to-use Action OS user interface, special camera settings can be saved to switch to the perfect settings for every imaginable situation in a flash.
The wilder the action, the more impressive is the HorizonSteady function, which keeps the film ma-terial level even during fast-paced action scenes. Whether it’s a go-kart or a dirt bike, DJI’s latest built-in stabilization algorithm detects and corrects camera shake and rotation in real time. The complex algorithms ensure buttery smooth shots, no matter how brute the action.
If things do go too fast, the 8x slow motion comes to the rescue: a goal shot that just misses, the moment of impact or the breaking of a wave are even more impressive in slow motion. With Action 2, you can even turn slow motion on or off during recording for precise timing and creative freedom.
